Procedures

Dr. Nyce is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University in University Park, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. After completing a master’s degree in microbiology from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, he received a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, graduating cum laude. During medical school, he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honorary Society, the Hobart Amory Hare Medical Honor Society and received the Honors Award for Medical Pharmacology.

Dr. Nyce completed his residency in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, and his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville.

Dr. Nyce is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, including American Journal of Physiology – Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology and Lancet. He currently serves as a clinical assistant professor at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah.

In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Nyce’s area of expertise is inflammatory bowel disease. He joined The Center for Digestive and Liver Health in 2006.
